25 Years for Chiru's Message!

Films with adequate entertainment, action and historical backdrop always rule the roost in Tollywood. Certain films that are made with good social intent were very rarely received by the audience unless they were laced with commercial elements. Hence, we see films like 'Swarabhisekham', 'Devasthanam' and 'Midhunam' that deal with human values, integrity and relationships failing to score a winner at box office.
We are talking about a similar kind of film 'Rudraveena' that was released on March 4, 1988 starring Mega Star Chiranjeevi in the lead role. The film though failed at box office has won critical acclaims and several awards including couple of National Awards and a Nandi Award. 'Rudraveena' is all about showcasing fight between social practices and modern living and director Balachander was in all praises for his deft narration. Music by Ilayaraja was one of the highlights of the film.
'Rudraveena' has been rated as one the best works of Chiru notably for his performance as a young guy hailing from an orthodox family and his efforts towards social reforms has won accolades. The film has completed 25 years and mega fans are remembering Chiru's message in this regard.
