Union tourism minister K. Chiranjeevi seems to be using his star appeal to push two of his pet proposals to boost tourism.
After getting an enhanced allocation for his ministry from finance minister P. Chidambaram, he has now turned to home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for extending tourism visa on arrival facility to 16 more countries to boost business potential for Incredible India.
Since his taking over as minister, he has been pressing for visa on arrival to more countries and also for selling India as a film tourism destination.
Both are interlinked to some extent, Chiranjeevi claims. Top ministry sources said that the response from Shinde has been positive. Seems Chiranjeevi’s personal request may make Shinde consider the proposal.
