The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the alleged illegal
assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy came
out with yet another charge sheet on Monday, naming home minister Sabita
Indra Reddy as one of the accused in the case.
The CBI authorities submitted the fifth charge sheet before the special CBI court in connection with the quid pro quo investments by Dalmia Cements and Eshwar Cements in the Jagan’s business empire.
According to the charge sheet, Dalmia Cements had invested Rs 50 crore in Raghuram Cements in return to the granting of mining leases for limestone in 409 hectares in Kadapa district. The CBI also named Sajjala Divakar Reddy of Sajjala Group, which had Invested Rs 49 crore in Jagan’s media house as a favour done to Obulapuram Mining Company promoted by mine lord Gali Janardhan Reddy, in which Sajjala group has business interests.
Out of 13 accused named in the charge sheet, Sabita was named as accused no. 4, while former mining secretary Y Srilakshmi was named as A-5 and former mines director V D Rajagopal as A-6. Apart from Dalmia’s managing director Puneet Dalmia, its representatives were also named as the accused in the charge sheet.
Sabita is the third minister to figure in the Jagan’s case, the first two being Mopidevi Venkataramana and Dharmana Prasada Rao. Mopidevi had to quit the cabinet and has since been jailed, while the other two are still continuing in the state cabinet.
