Tamannah and producer Salim Akhtar have decided to settle their dispute for 25 lakh.
Akhtar, who gave Tamannaah a break in films with Chand Sa Roshan Chehra in 2005, had filed a case against her with the Association of Motion Picture and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) and the Calcutta HC, for cheating and breach of contract.
According to the contract, Tamannaah was supposed to share 25% of her earnings with Akhtar for five years. But she moved to the south film industry, and Akhtar waited for five years and filed the complaint in 2010. Reportedly, Akhtar was not ready to settle for a small amount, but later did so after the association convinced him.
Says Akhtar, “I’ve agreed to abide by my association’s decision. Apart from the money, there are some other things that have been agreed upon. But all I can say is that I have settled my case with Tamannaah.”
