Different Claims, Confusing Results

Despite the conduct of gram panchayat elections on non-party basis, the claims and counter-claims by political parties over the election results have created a confusion of sorts among the people.
Even Telugu media appears to be vertically split over reporting the claims by political parties. While Sakshi daily and television channel has been claiming that the YSR Congress party has won the majority of gram panchayats in the first phase of elections held on Tuesday, the other channels have been giving conflicting versions.
The pro-Telugu Desam Party channels like Eenadu, ABN-Andhra Jyothy and TV-9 have projected that the TDP-backed candidates have won the maximum number of gram panchayats, while the other channels like Zee 24 Ghantalu and I-News have been reporting that the Congress has been dominating the show.
The classic example of contradictory reporting was with regard to destruction of ballot boxes and burning of ballot papers at Alattoor village of Buchinayudi Kandriga mandal in Chittoor district.
While Eenadu reported that it was YSR Congress party workers who had resorted to destructive activity following the announcement of a TDP candidate as sarpanch, Sakshi reported that the TDP workers resorted to violence following YSR Congress party victory.
Who should we believe?
