Telangana Heat Hits 'Evadu'

The Telangana heat has now struck the Telugu film industry.
The much-awaited action thriller "Evadu", starring Ramcharan Tej and Shruti Haasan, is set to be the first casualty of the political turmoil following the Congress high command's decision to bifurcate the state.
The Union Tourism Minister Chiranjeevi is said to be worried about the negative impact that his son's film might face if the decision on Telangana state formation is announced.
The movie, produced by Dil Raju and directed by Vamsi Paidipalli, is slated for release on July 31.
However, Chiranjeevi is apprehensive that the movie will take a beating commercially if its release coincides with the announcement on Telangana.
According to sources in the Tollywood, the megastar had called up the film producer and asked him to postpone the release. He wants the movie to be released in the later part of August by which time the political furore over Telangana issue could have subsided to a large extent.
Chiranjeevi is believed to have told Dil Raju that according to his information, the UPA leadership would make a favourable announcement on Telangana on August 2.
It would naturally trigger agitation and shutdown calls in Seemandhra which will affect the commercial success of the film. The Seemandhra Congress leaders are more or less resigned to the imminent granting of Telangana statehood.
Chiranjeevi and his family members are pinning a lot of hopes on "Evadu" in which Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal will be seen in a 15 minute cameo roles. The movie will also be dubbed into Tamil and Malayalam.
