TATA Motors in talks to set up car unit in Iran

India's Tata Motors is in talks with a local manufacturer here to set up a joint venture for assembling its petrol cars in Iran as it looks to tap the fast growing market that has just emerged from sanctions.

Tata Motors is talking to Iran Khodro Company for a joint venture to assemble knocked down units of the petrol versions of its models, including the latest compact car Tiago, Bolt and Zest, which are powered by the company's new Revotron petrol engines, sources said here.
Knocked down version of the cars will be imported and assembled at Iran Khodro's manufacturing facility after adding local contents like tyres and batteries.
Tata Motors will use Iran Khodro's sales network to sell the cars.

The branding will be of Tata Motors and Iran Khodro will be just a contract manufacturer, they said, adding that Tata Motors will start assembling in Iran in less than 2 years.
Initially, Tata Motors is looking at 1 lakh cars a year which will be gradually ramped up. Production at the factory, which may be located in suburban Tehran and Masad, is slated to begin by 2018.
Iran Khodro had earlier this year renewed partnership with French manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroen.
Iran Khodro Company (public joint stock) was founded in August 1962. Starting with contract manufacturing of sedan 'Paykan' for British firm Rootes in 1966, it has manufactured for France's Peugeot as well as Tondar 90 sedan (Renault Logan). It manufactures several Chinese models now.
Peugeot had earlier this year signed a contract with Iran Khodro to start a joint venture that will make three new models.
Peugeot's January 2016 deal marks its return to Iran after a four-year absence.
Iran Khodro, which is 14 per cent-owned by the Iranian government, was Peugeot's former partner before the French company's decision to shut down its operations in 2012 in the wake of international sanctions.
Before 2012, Peugeot would send parts, which then were assembled in Iranian plants.

ALL GLASS iPhone 7s In The Pipeline For 2017 Release

We've seen several recent reports from KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, a man with an impeccable track record when it comes to accurate Apple and iPhone leaks and predictions, and he has repeatedly stated that 2016's iPhone 7 will be an incremental update - one that won't impress too many customers, he claims.
Next year's model, however, is a whole different ball-game, in fact the likely reason the iPhone 7 won't see major updates is because they're all being reserved for the 2017 model - no-one knows what it will be called yet, it is reasonable to assume iPhone 7s, however, Kuo's predictions suggest that the iPhone revamp will be a massive overhaul to such an extent that we can't rule out some kind of re-branding excercise. Not to mention the emergence of the iPhone SE and Apple's "Pro" brand which is already apparently superseding the old iPad Air and could come to a new dual-camera iPhone model this September.
Anyway, the 2017 iPhone, according to Kuo, will be made primarily from glass, including curved glass bodywork designed to replicate the shape of the iPhone 4s. This claim has been repeated several times, and now an industry insider has made comments which go some way to supporting the idea.
Catcher Technology is an Apple supplier, a firm which builds smartphone bodies and has made them for previous iPhone models where it has created the metal components, but now the company's chairman and CEO, Allen Horng, has commented on the glass body rumours. Nikkei reports that Horng said "as far as I know, only one model will adopt glass casing next year," in response to questions regarding the 2017 iPhone. This could mean that the contemporary iPhone Plus or iPhone Pro model will retain a metal build.
It also appears, according to these reports, that the all-glass iPhone model will have a rigid metal frame inside the glass casing - Horng implied that he is not worried about an all-glass iPhone having an impact on his business; presumably this means his firm will still make the metal interior even if it's not handling the glass. And it will still likely make the non-glass iPhone model for the same year.
Horng also added that a glass-built iPhone would need "advanced" technology for its construction and there would not be any cost savings versus a metal-built one in the current design.

Film in the combination of Rajinikanth and Dhanush?

Rajinikanth and his son-in-law Dhanush are going to appear together in a film for the first time? This is the latest hot gossip doing the rounds of Bollywood industry. And the director to bring together the two is Anand Rai who gave a sensational debut to Dhanush in Hindi with Raanjhanaa. The combination incidentally has tried many times in the past but has always failed to materialize except for a small cameo appearance of Dhanush in a Rajini film.
Anand Rai however is a very critically acclaimed director who has so far given two big successes to two South Indian actors. First the director gave the long awaited solo hit to actor Madhavan with Tanu Weds Manu and later as we all know he have the super hit Raanjhanaa with Dhanush. The latter is expected to sweep all the awards for best debut actor for Dhanush later in the year. When asked about his next venture the director had in the past mentioned that he would again be working with Dhanush but now this latest piece of news citing Rajinikanth also in the project as well seems even more exciting. We have to wait for an official confirmation from the director though. How many of you are excited to see Rajini and Dhanush together on screen?

Why our filmmakers are particular about titles?

Why are filmmakers and actors more concerned about film titles nowadays. Most of them want catchy titles that can ring a bell and probably have big recall value in the minds of the audience. While filmmakers seem to be running out of catchy titles, and therefore, are opting to have the first line of a hit chartbuster of their film title.
Filmmakers are fighting to have a very catchy title and in most cases, it’s the fans of the actors who end up fighting. Titles have become the biggest concern for directors, actors and producers more than even the story of a film. More and more actors prefer picking titles that are already popular in the industry. For instance, Sudheer Babu’s next film is titled Aadu Magadra Bujji, which is a famous line from Athadu.
The Manchu family has opted for Paandavulu Paandavulu Thummeda as the title for its family multi-starrer, while Sai Dharam Tej’s new film Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, is named after the opening line of popular song from Gabbar Singh.
