In his hey days, legend actor, Telugu Desam Party founder-president
and former chief minister N T Rama Rao declared openly before the public
that his actor-son Nandamuri Balakrishna was his political heir.
But now, NTR’s widow Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi does not consider Balakrishna as NTR’s true heir.
“He had lost the eligibility to claim NTR’s legacy the moment he stood behind by his brother-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu who had usurped power from NTR and thrown him on the roads. In fact, Balakrishna has no right to utter the name of his father, leave alone claiming his legacy,” Lakshmi Parvathi said.
Taking a dig at Balakrishna for raising a hue and cry over using NTR’s picture in YSR Congress party’s flexi boards, Lakshmi Parvathi said it was a meaningless controversy.
“Anybody who has faith in NTR’s ideals and policies can make use of his photo. The TDP leaders are making it a big issue because they are facing the identity crisis. If they have guts, let them go into public with Chandrababu Naidu’s photograph, rather than NTR,” she challenged.
