Hyderabad As Common Capital Not Possible?

Despite the reports from New Delhi indicating that the Centre might carve out Telangana with 10 districts, speculations continue to fly thick in the air on the possibility of declaring Hyderabad as the joint capital of Andhra and Telangana for at least five years.
However, legal experts say Hyderabad as the common capital is not practically possible, unless it is under central administrative rule.
“If Hyderabad is made common capital, the question arises as to who would administer it. There would be serious disputes between Telangana and Seemandhra governments on the right over Hyderabad. If it has to be made common capital, Hyderabad should first be made a union territory or a special administrative unit under the Central government,” said a legal expert, who took part in a television debate.
So, the option is still open. If Hyderabad is given to Telangana, then Seemandhra would have to choose a separate capital and it would take quite some time to build a new capital. Is it possible in the given circumstances? Let us wait and watch!
