It has been ages since anyone has seen Naga Chaitanya onscreen and
his last movie was ‘Bezawada’ which became a colossal disaster.
It is not a regular feature that one gets to see the film of a young hero from a powerful family getting stuck for ages and not able to come out. But the Akkineni family is experiencing that. And there have been many hiccups surrounding the release of ‘Autonagar Surya’. The question is, will it ever release? Recently there was one talk that almost everything is done barring two songs but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The film was launched with voice trailer in a prestigious way and a powerful dialogue. After that the regular trailer also came but no news about the cinema. It has been two and half years since it started..
Since then Chaitu has been keeping a low profile and some of the Akkineni fans are hoping that he will bounce back with a bang. That time seems to have arrived now.
According to reports, it is heard that producer Lagadapati Sridhar has joined hands with Chaitu for a new film. This is going to be made at a big budget. Buzz is that the film is the remake of the Kannada hit ‘Charminar’. This would be made as a bilingual in both Telugu and Tamil with high production standards.
Sources say Lagadapati Sridhar is planning to commence this venture after he wraps up his current project ‘Potugadu’ starring Manchu Manoj. The director for the bilingual remake is reportedly Chandru, the man who made the original in Kannada. Let us hope this film changes the fortunes for Chaitu. Right now his career is at cross roads.
