At a time when the people of Telangana have lost faith on the
deadlines fixed by various leaders on the statehood issue, senior
Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Palwai Goverdhan Reddy came out
with yet another deadline in this regard.
Palwai told the media in New Delhi on Tuesday that the UPA government was most likely to take a decision on separate statehood issue before June 15, when the budget session of Parliament will come to an end. He further predicted that the Telangana Congress leaders might quit and take their own decisions to safeguard their future if the Centre did not come out with an announcement on Telangana statehood in May or June.
“The first batch of the Congress leaders who quit the party includes Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and his brother Rajagopal Reddy,” he said.
Palwai, however, said union minister S Jaipal Reddy and state panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy would not quit their posts or the party as they still had a lot of faith on the party leadership.
Perhaps, that is why Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is happily taking rest at Medak farmhouse!
