Mahesh Babu Vs Pawan Kalyan: Kings Of Tollywood

No one knows how the crowns shift from head to head. Chiranjeevi has been the top star of Tollywood for 30 years and has enjoyed the number one crown indisputably.
Now the crown has shifted to two big heroes- Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan. Both have been considered the most wanted heroes for all film lovers and producers.
The investment that happens on the films of these two heroes is considered to be the most valuable and calculations happen in different trade circles.
The latest update is that Pawan Klayan is offered a mammoth Rs 18 Cr remuneration excluding share in profits and Mahesh Babu was offered Rs 20 Cr for their next films.
It is already reported that UTV has offered Rs 20 Cr for Mahesh Babu for the film in the direction of Koratala Shiva of ‘Mirchi’ fame. It is indeed a workable figure as the director is not the most demanding with respect to remuneration like other top directors do. And then PVP cinema has offered Rs 18 Cr for Pawan Kalyan for Gabbar Singh2.
On a whole, these are the two big heroes on whom the investments are higher and even distributors dare to play with bigger stakes.
Pawan Kalyan suffered successive flops like Puli, Teenmaar and Panjaa but still his charisma was never waned. The openings for his films were always full houses. Despite tasting flops, Pawan never stepped back in giving opportunities to new and young directors. Thus he gave a chance to Harish Shankar who scored a flop and a single hit by then. And the rest is history. Gabbar Singh proved to be the historical hit in Tollywood.
Even Mahesh Babu has tasted bitter flops like Sainikudu, Athithi and Khaleja before Dookudu changed the picture of his career. His subsequent films Businessman and SVSC proved successful at box office.
Pawan Kalyan’s Atarintiki Daredi and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Nenokakdine’ are the most awaited films now among trade circles and film lovers.
Now the Tollywood crown is shared between these two kings of collections and we have to see who is in line in the future.
