Veteran Comedian AVS Passed Away

Amanchi Venkata Subramanyam, better known as AVS, has breathed his last on Friday at his son Pradeep's residence in Manikonda, Hyderabad.

The popular actor died because of failure of his kidneys and liver related issues.

He was admitted at a private hospital and had been treated for the past 10 days.

On Friday, doctors' apparently gave up and asked his family members to take him to their residence.

He had been discharged today afternoon. He could breathe without the support of ventilator and even recognized the visitor like Murali Mohan and spoke them.

But suddenly at around 8 P.M AVS breathed his last. He was 56-year-old.

Kick started his career as a journalist, he forayed into TV and shot to fame with shows in Doordarshan.

Later, he debuted into films with Bapu-Ramana's films. Though he got to play a role in Srinadha Kavi Sarvabhavuma, his first film that saw the light of the day is Mr Pellam in 1993. He bagged Nandi award for this role and no looking back since then.

After carving a niche for himself as comedian, he produced two films Uncle and Ori Nee Prema Bangaram Kanu.

He also donned director's hat through Suresh Productions and directed films like Super Heroes, Roommates, Kothimooka and Ori Nee Prema Bangaram Kanu. AVS's filmography is huge as he has credited for around 500 films. AVS' also served as secretary to MAA (Movie Artistes' Association) for three times. He had also announced awards for best actors, films on the name of AVS Blog Buster Awards. AVS too debuted into politics and joined in Telugu Desam Party. He worked as publicity campaign convener for the party.

Even before Telugu film industry come out of the sudden demise of actor Srihari, the latest sad news of AVS is like rubbing salt on the wound.

Several film and political personalities condoled his death.
