25 in 23
Having done 25 films in just 23 years of age, Tammu reportedly mentioned she always wanted to become an actress from childhood and recalled how she used all her mother’s clothes, makeup and often watch Hindi films. She had danced during school events but got rejected for acting auditions. Her first break was ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra’ when she was 14 and it released when she gave her tenth boards. This was followed by a campaign for Fair & Lovely and got noticed in south. That resulted in the Telugu film ‘Happy Days’.
Parental support
Tammu reportedly mentioned that she got tremendous support from her parents especially her mother. She travelled with her throughout and took care of everything and ensured Tammu never felt homesick. Tammu appreciates the fact that her parents noticed her skills and took a lot of sacrifice to help her achieve what she wants.
Experiences In Hero-Centric South Industry
According to Tammu, the size of the role of a heroine doesn’t matter. What matters is even after doing those three to four scenes the audience wants to see more of the heroine. She has reportedly added that it is more like a challenge to work in commercial films because she has to prove her mettle within that short time.
Friends In Film Industry
Ram Charan, Dhanush and Ileana are reportedly Tammu’s good friends. She has reportedly added that she is quite close to the mega family. Bonding with Ileana happened when Tammu did her first Tamil film with her. As for Dhanush, he was there to advice her. And the other friend is James Ravi whom she got to know through his wife Aarthi.
Difference Between Tollywood & KollywoodTammu reportedly stated that Telugu films are quite entertaining whereas Tamil films are raw and offbeat apart from being commercial. In Telugu, the ending must always be happy and it is always a fairy tale else it wont work.
Learnings From Industry
Running behind something will not get you everything. It is all about destiny. Hardwork is clichéd and competition is high because everyone works hard but one must be courageous not to be feared when they lose work. Tammu’s inspiration is the Hollywood movie ‘Kung Fu Panda’ as it conveys about believing in yourself. She maintained that she lives in the present and doesn’t dwell on past or future. For her, life is unpredictable and fragile.
Linkups And Affairs
Tammu reportedly states that love is a big and strong term so she prefers using it carefully. She clarifies that she has to be in love with the person than the actor. She maintained that she has not fallen in love and reportedly reveals how she has begun working with stars of her age group only now as her previous films had people who were much older to her.
Higher Female Following
Tammu reportedly confirmed that her women following is more than men and finds it flattering. The reason being, women are comfortable watching her movies in theatres as she has done clean films and projects which women don’t feel uncomfortable about. Tammu reportedly maintained that she has never kissed onscreen and even her clothes are aesthetic not revealing.
Experience With Sajid Khan In ‘Himmatwala’
Apparently, Sajid never saw Tammu’s work and he was convinced with her just after fifteen minutes of interaction. She adds that her sense of humour has improved a lot after working with him. Sajid is reportedly a sincere person but not serious so there is a lot of fun while working. Tammu reportedly learnt how to prepare before she enters the sets. She also recalled how Sajid had committed he would launch ‘Himmatwala’ on March 29th and did exactly that which shows his ability of planning.
Future Projects In Bollywood
A film with Akshay Kumar produced by Ramesh Taurani, this marks the debut of Sajid-Farhad as directors. Along with that, there are two Telugu films and one Tamil film. Tammu reportedly reiterates that just like Mumbai even Hyderabad and Chennai are her homes.
That’s Tamannah Bhatia for you folks!
